In both of these images we used a hand coloring technique utilizing Hue/Saturation and Level adjustment layers, the results are dingy, low contrasting and kind of grunge.

I like how you took something from land and made it under water. It is a bit creepy, while still being elegant and alluring just like the deep blue sea.
